dBx Acoustics worked with Urban Splash and Stephenson Studio on the conversion of an historic mill building at Ancoats, Manchester into loft apartments.
We worked closely with the design team to meet the modern day acoustic requirements of Building Regulations without having to hide the beautiful original features of exposed brickwork, timber millboard floors, cast iron structure and brickwork walls.
The Mill was constructed in 1825, and from 1910 housed the Avro aircraft manufacturers. Their aircraft were used in both World Wars, with the Lancaster being one of their most famous and recognisable aircraft.
