In September 2015 dBx Acoustics Ltd is celebrated the completion of the new build St Matthias School, Wolverhampton. Replacing Deansfield Community School, it was last project to be completed under the Wolverhampton Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme which delivered 26 schools since it began 2008. Our Director, Susan, had worked on them all – first at Capita Symonds and latterly with dBx Acoustics – to ensure consistency in the acoustic approach across the project.
St Matthias was one of the first projects awarded to the fledgling dBx Acoustics in 2013 and was great to take it all the way from a noise survey on an open site, through design to BB93, construction, and finally pre-completion testing. The building includes a purpose designed set of rooms for use by hearing impaired pupils, as has a total of 800 pupils aged 11-16 years.
